Wayne County, NC - Miscellaneous File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Grace Williamson Turner Edited by Guy Potts Goldsboro Messenger Goldsboro, NC Thursday, March 10, 1881 Briefs Wayne county Inferior Court will be held Monday the 28th inst. A cow with twin calves was a novelty on our streets a day or two ago. Mr. Needham Smith, a Goldsboro liquor dealer, died one day last week. The bill passed to reduce the amount of the official bond of county surveyor from $4,000 to $1,000. We had the pleasure of a visit on Tuesday from Mr. Seth M. Carpenter, the able editor of the Newberrian. We are requested to state that Dr. B.F. Arrington, the efficient Dentist, will be at Snow Hill, during next week. The failure of the liquor license bill in the Senate on Saturday last has caused considerable comment, pro and con, in this section. Dr. V.N. Sewell, of Duplin, we are glad to learn, has decided to make the White Hall section, in this county, his future home. Mr. J.J. Baker, Jr. residing in Pikeville township, had the bad fortune recently to get his left hand (fold in paper) in his cotton gin. __________________________________________________________________________ USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
