Hatch n/a April 16, 2015, 12:52 am From "Ladies of Everettsville" by Cullen B. Hatch Everettsville Methodist Church The old church house stood at the corner of Church and Pollock streets (Mt Olive). It was built of long-leaf pine and cypress. It was of gothic design with stained glass windows. Its steeple reached to the heaven. It measured just about forty foot by one hundred. The church was moved the seven miles from old Everettsville. There, before the Civil War, it had served the needs of good Methodists thereabout. The old pews of old Everettsville Methodist Church South were frequently occupied by Elizabeth Barden, Sally Barfield, Harriet Cobb, Bab Everett, Ann Garber, Ann Griswold, Elizabeth Hall, Ann Elizabeth Hatch, Clarissa Hatch, Lou Smith, Mary Hill, Sarah Humphrey, Catherine Larkins, Louise Montford, Mag Pearce, Nancy Sasser, Hanna Slocumb, Pauline Smith, Eliza Wright and Georgiana Whitfield.
