Statement of the Votes for & against a Convention
Returned the 3rd Apr 1835

State of North Carolina }
           Wayne County } 

                            I William Thomson Sheriff for said county
do hereby certify that an election held at the different Election grounds
in this county on the first and second days of this instant for the people
to vote for or against a State Convention that this is a true Statement
of the poles delivered to me by the persons appointed to hold said Election
The number of votes for a convention is fifty five (55) and the number of
votes against a convention is Eight hundred and thirty six (1836)
