Joshua F. Hines enlisted in Co I 35th regiment in the War Between The
States. He was residing in Wayne County, NC and was 18 years of age. His
confederate papers states that his complexion was dark, hair dark, eyes
hazel, height 5 ft 3 in Joshua was captured at Five Forks, Va on April 
1, 1865. He was received at Post April 7, 1865. He was received from City
Prison, Va. He was received from  Capt L F Jackson 68 Pa and assigned 
to Company 13.

Hart's Island, NY, Register No. 1, Page 7. He was released after taking
the oath of allegiance June 18, 1865.
