Military Companies
On motion it is ordered that the free white male residents of the county between 
18 and 45 years of age be enrolled and organized into military companies and 
auxiliary to the county police for the preservation of law and order as follows, 
viz - one company for each of the Captain's districts or election precincts by 
the following persons, viz
Lewis Whitfield for New Hope
W. D. Handley for Salulston
Fred J. Bection for Davis
Jno G. Aycock for Nahunta
Sherrard Hamilton for Pikeville
A. L. Ssasser for Fork
D. H. Bridges for Cross Roads
Benj. J. Griswold for Buck Swamp
David McKinne for Dudley
A. T. Grady for Indian Springs
Wm. R. Bass for Stoney Creek
S. D. Phillips and J. L. Lucas for Goldsboro
