          Nov the 29, 1847

Dear Sir I now take my pen in Hand to inform you that my helth Is tolerable
at present hoping That these few lines may find you injoing good helth  Sir 
my Father and mother was very Much apposed to my Comming to Mexico more So 
becaus I was not of Age  Sir my age is nineteen years old last April and I 
want you To git me a dis Charge if you Pleas and let me return to my Dear 
father and Mother a gain I was Talking with an officer the other And he 
Said that if I wood write to you that he Thaught you wood Git me a dis 
Charge pleas to Wright to me a mediatly after you receive this letter.
Nothing more at present but remain yours respectly, Daniel, L, Howell
