Wayne County, NC - Francis Cogdell Revolutionary War Records ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ NC Archives Wayne County Miscellaneous - Pensions 1788-1936 CR.103.928 I recollect very well that I have herd my Father say that he and Francis Cogdell served in the ware of the Revolution to gether and my Father Drawed his pention for many years and until he died James Odom I recolect hering it said that Jethro Odom and Francis Cogdell served in the ware of the revolution to gether or that they were in one Battle to gether at Moores Creek in that ware Rd Manly My mother is a niece of Francis Cogdell, was eleven years old when Cornwallis was taken and though too young then to know any thing about it doubts not from what she used to hear from the family and others that her uncle entered the army early if not at the beginning of the war and continued in the service till the close of the Revolution. That he caught consumption and died of it soon after his return to his family. I have often heard my mother speak of her uncle's having served in the war of the Revolution.
