He volunteered in 1779 and served five months as a private in Captain John Canada’s North Carolina Company. He volunteered in 1781, served three months as a substitute for his Uncle John Wiggs in Captain Joseph Sessions’ North Carolina Company and was in the battle of Guilford. He was allowed pension on his application executed April 26, 1833 while a resident of Johnson County, IL.
