Goldsboro Messenger April 13, 1876
A party of young folks near Providence on the South side of the Neuse allowed 
themselves to be "April fooled" last Friday evening. It had been announced by some 
wag that a School Exhibition was to come off that evening at Everittsville and the 
party went there only to discover that they were "April fooled."
