Raleigh Christian Advocate August 31, 1887
John S. Midyette graduated from Normal, now Trinity College in 1857, was engaged 
before his graduation as an assistant in the Raleigh Female Seminary of which Rev. 
Wm. E. Pell was Principle, and taught there the remainder of 1857 and 1858. From 
there he went to Everettsville, Wayne County, and took charge of the Male and Female
Academy and taught until he entered the army.
