North Carolinian February 19, 1853
Ranaway

From the subscriber on the 10th January inst., a Negro man named Britton. Britton 
is of ordinary height, stout and muscular form, weight usually a hundred and 
eighty. No marks about his person by which he may be described, except the loss 
of the first joint of one of his fingers. His design in going off may possibly be 
to get in company with some one moving to Texas, as his wife belongs to Mr. John 
West, who has recently moved from Everettsville, Wayne County, to that state.

I will give ten dollars for his delivery to me or his confinement in any jail so 
that I can get him.
