Goldsboro Messenger September 15, 1884
Pompey Snead has been captured. His arrest was effected on Friday evening by 
Officers Price, Spicer and Herring, acting under orders of Chief of Police Hurst at
a point known as the "Big Cut" near Everittsville six miles from here. Several 
buckshot were in his person. He surrendered without resistance and was committed to
jail.
