All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Goldsboro Messenger n/a April 26, 2015, 6:00 pm Goldsboro Messenger June 4, 1875 Local Briefs: We see the proposals were solicited by the United States Post Office Department to be decided by the 10th of June for carrying a weekly mail from Everettsville by Falling Creek to Bentonsville, twenty miles and back, and to leave Bentonsville on Saturdays at 6 a.m. returning, to leave Everettsville at 1 o'clock p.m. This is a much needed mail route and we hope to see it reopened. It seems, however, to have escaped the attention of the Department that the Everettsville postoffice has long since gone down and with it the village. Either Goldsboro or Dudley should be substituted in the place thereof.
