Weekly Standard Raleigh April 3, 1852
An Agricultural Meeting was held in Goldsboro on Saturday last and an Agricultural 
and Mechanical Association formed for Wayne County. George W. Collier, Esq., 
presided and George V. Strong and W. B. Gulick, Esquires, acted as Secretaries.

The following gentlemen were elected officers for the ensuing year:
Geo. W. Collier, President
William K. Lane and John Everitt Vice Presidents
W. T. Dortch Secretary
Z. L. Thompson Treasurer
