The Standard of Raleigh, July 6, 1859
 
WAYNE FEMALE ACADEMY 
-- By an advertisement in another column, it will be seen that the above named 
Institution commences its Fall Session on the 25th of July. The antecedents of 
this Institution are highly favorable to its character. At the last 
commencement, we learn, there was a very general approbation by all who had  
an opportunity of witnessing the improvements of the pupils -- which did great 
credit to the Principal and his Assistants and to the studious habits of the 
scholars. From all we can learn, we consider it a school of first rank among 
the many Female Colleges and Academies now in existence in our State. --

WAYNE FEMALE COLLEGE -- Located at Goldsboro; REV. S. M. FROST, A. M., 
Principal; number of pupils, 128.
