In Florida For George W. Baker Heart Attack Fatal to Former Goldsboro Man Who Owned Large Property Funeral services for George W. Baker, 68, former Goldsboro man who died suddenly at his home in Daytona Beach, Fla. , Saturday will be held in Winter Haven, Florida on Thursday, Goldsboro relatives have been informed. Mr. Baker died suddenly of a heart attack. Mr. Baker moved to Winter Haven from Goldsboro twenty-two years ago and for twelve years was a prominent citrus grower in the Winter Haven area. In 1925 he moved to Daytona Beach from Winter Haven where he engaged in business. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Gertrude Baker, a daughter, Mrs. Glenn D. Gerke, and four sons, Cecil, Hubert, George and Reginald Baker, all of Winter Haven. Mrs. Thad Gurley and Mrs. Lonnie Edgerton, both of Wayne county, are sisters of the deceased. News of the death of Mr. Baker came as a shock to relatives and friends in Goldsboro. A few days ago he was in the city to look after his extensive holdings in real estate and had seemed in good health at the time. A native of Fork township, Mr. Baker early accumulated large property in Goldsboro. He owns his own home adjoining the Parochial school on North William street, twenty or more tenant houses, and a farm in Fork township. In Daytona Beach he owned large rental property.
