Wayne County, NC - Obituaries - Bennett Curby Fields File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by PEGCHARLTON The Argus Dec. 21, 1904 The death of Mr. Bennett Fields, one of Goldsboro's oldest and most highly respected citizens, and a brave Confederate soldier, occurred at his home on Mulbery Street, West, last night about 7:30 o'clock, of paralysis. He had been a patient sufferer for a number of years and died in the faith and hope of an eternal home beyond the skies, for he was a quiet, unassuming Christian gentleman, who owed no man any harm. He leaves a devoted wife and four children, three girls and one boy, to mourn his death and to them the Argus extends its sincere sympathy, and directs them for consolation to Him who doeth all things well. He was about 75 years of age. The funeral will be held from the home this afternoon at 5 o'clock, conducted by Rev. W. F. Fry, pastor at the First Baptist Church, of which the deceased was a devout member, and the interment will be made in beautiful Willow Dale cemetery. __________________________________________________________________________ USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
