Departed this life at Everettsville, Wayne county, NC, a short time since, the ever
lamented and deeply regretted Mrs. Mary Carney, widow of the late James Carney. Mrs.
Carney was born near Edenton, NC in the year 1784. The dec'd removed to Newbern, NC
in 1810. The dec'd for 35 years past was a very efficient member of the Methodist 
Church and ever manifested great reverence and godly fear for the cause in which she
was engaged. Mrs. Carney died suddenly and with great prospects she would meet her 
savior.
