George Collier, who was at one time one of the most prominent men in Eastern North Carolina. Mrs. Collier's maiden name was Oliver. She was a sister of Mr. William H. Oliver of Newbern. Until recently Mrs. Collier enjoyed excellent health, but for the past few weeks it was evident that not far away the messenger stood beckoning home the weary pilgrim. Mrs. Collier was blessed in her children. No mother ever received more careful, patient, loving attention at the hands of her children, and it was beautiful to behold their devotion to their mother.
