Goldsboro Messenger
The remains of Dr. Will S. Everett arrived here from Charlotte on Thursday last, 
in charge of Lieut. Moss and privates Boyd and Henderson of the Hornet's Nest 
Riflemen. The funeral took place Friday evening from the Presbyterian Church 
where Rev. Mr. McAlpine preached a very touching sermon.

Dr. Everett was a son of the late John Everett, Esq., and a brother to Mrs. Dr. 
Arrington and Mrs. W. W. Crawford of this town, as also to Drs. S. S. Everett and 
D. E. Everett. 

Only a few weeks since he had completed his 30th year of age and his untimely 
death has cast a sad gloom over the sorrowing family and a large circle of 
friends and acquaintenances throughout this section.
