Holloman They buried E.K. Holloman the other afternoon. He was 81 years old, much to my surprise. His carriage always was so happy and bouyant I had thought him in his early 70s. And I would have thought him younger had I not known that he was a veteran of World War I. Of late years illness had prevented him from getting around much. You saw him on infrequent visits to the Elks Club. Holloman was of a band of World War I "buddies" who helped make the Goldsboro we know today. He was a great crony of the late Bob Stevens and Col. Zeno G. Hollowell, names whose fame is well remembered. As a member of the Boards of Aldermen, Holloman was a progressive who joined with other progressives to lay the foundations for growth and progress. And he was such a friendly and gentle soul. I never heard him raise his voice in anger or use profanity or tell obscene stories. Sleep on and take your rest. ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
