Goldsboro News Argus, July 27, 1987 
  Fountain- Funeral services for Joshua Desford (J. D.) Hines, 88, will be held 
Tuesday at 4 p. m. from the Farmville Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the 
Queen Anne Cemetery. He died Saturday.
  He is suvived by his wife, Mrs. Hettie Hines of Princeton; two daughters, 
Mrs. Zelda Mae Philligin of Fayetteville and Mrs. Mary Little of Wilson; two 
sons, Durwood Hines of Farmville and Dalma Hines of Fountain; four sisters, 
Mrs. Paul Mitchell and Mrs. Roy Poston of Wilson, Mrs. Woodrow Sasser of 
Fremont, and Mrs. Preston Hines of Goldsboro; 22 grandchildren; and 22 great-
grandchildren.
  The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at the funeral home.
