oct-16-1945 news and argus
smithfield, mg mitchell of wayne county died at his home on princeton  route 2 
sunday night .funeral was conducted on tuesday afternoon at whitley's church by 
the rev j.w. wellons of micro and burial followed in the family cemetery near 
the home. surving are six sons; pharoah mitcell of petersburg va, sam mitchell 
of franklin va,author and howard mitchell of williard and albert and leslie 
mitchell of the home;two daughters mrs rd anderson of new port news va and miss 
myrtle mitchell of the home; five brothers and two sisters.
