Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. from Emmaus Baptist Church by the Rev. J. D. Eddins, Rev. Johnny Sasser, Rev. Murray Craft and Rev. Gene Roberts. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Newman Percise, George Potts, James Grady, Roscoe Grady, James Potts and William Percise. Surviving are his wife Mrs. Lillian Pipkin Potts; two daughters Mrs. Sarah Potts Lynch of Goldsboro and Mrs. Clara Potts Newcomb of Dudley; three sons, Leslie and Thomas Potts of Goldsboro and Guy Potts of Raleigh; five grandchildren; two brothers, David Potts of Mount Olive and Luther Potts of Snow Hill. The family will receive visitors at the home. Additional Comments: Edward was born August 22, 1900 in Brogden township to Newman and Mary Abstella Fields Potts. He died February 26, 1977. He married Lottie Lillian Pipkin who was the daughter of Ernest James and Hettie Myrtle Rose Pipkin of Grantham township.
