E. Pauline Barefoot

Esther Pauline Barefoot, 81, formerly of 1407 E. Walnut St., died
Monday at Britthaven of Goldsboro.

Born in Sampson County, she was the daughter of the late Bradley
and Lola Pipkin Barefoot and was the neice of the late Mary Pipkin.
She was a member of Saint Paul United Methodist Church.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Wayne
Memorial Park. The Rev. Tom Loftis and the Rev. Robert Bame will
officiate.

Family

     Survived by several cousins

Pauline Barefoot was born in Sampson County on April 16, 1911
to Bradley & Lola Pipkin Barefoot. Following the early death of 
parents, she went to live with her aunt, Mary Cogdell Pipkin. A
member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, she has been described
as a lovely and bright young lady. Health problems appeared slowly
in her life...problems that would always necessitate the love and 
and attention of a caretaker. For many years, Mary and Pauline lived
together in their home...eventually relocating to Britthaven of
Goldsboro because of health concerns associated with aging. On
February 16, 1989, Mary Pipkin died, and Pauline continued the 
following three years at Britthaven, lovingly cared for by cousins.
On June 22, 1992, at 12:30 AM, Esther Pauline Barefoot died at the
age of 81 years.
