Wayne County, NC - Sarah E. Rhodes Obituary

Died at her home in Grantham's township, on Tuesday, Sept. 8th, 1890,
Miss Sarah E. Rhodes aged 55 years and 22 days. Deceased had been in
declining health for more than a year, but her sufferings were borne
with Christian fortitude and resignation. She had been for many years
a member of the Methodist Church, and her devotion to her Church, and 
her faith in Christ, remained unshaken to the last.

Her mortal remains were laid to rest by the side of her father and
mother the following day. The funeral sermon was preached by her
pastor, Rev. J.T. Abernathy, of Mount Olive, in the presence of a 
large concourse of her relatives and friends, who sorrowfully followed
her to the dark and silent tomb, but who confidently expect to meet
her in a better land when their trials here are over.
