Wayne County, NC - Mrs. Rebecca Uzzell, 1779-1878

Mrs. Rebecca Uzzell died in New Hope Township, Wayne County, NC
on Monday night last. Mrs. Uzzell was probably the oldest as well
as one of the most remarkable persons in the county. She lacked
but one of being 100 years old and until within one month of her
death, led an active life, keeping house for herself and attending
to her domestic affairs. She was the mother of thirteen children,
among whom were the late Thomas and Joshua Uzzell, and her
grandchildren, and great grand children are legion.
