Mrs. C. S. Vause Dies At Age 81
       Mrs. Callie Swinson Vause, 81, died Saturday at her home, four 
miles southeast of Mount Olive, after an illness over a period of several 
years. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the home and burial 
made in the family cemetery.
       Surviving are two sons, John A. Vause of the home community, and 
the Rev. C. B. Vause, Baptist minister of Spindale; four daughters, Miss 
Eva Vause of Wake Forest, Miss Abbie Vause of Goldsboro, Mrs. Floyd Hamilton 
of Kinston and Mrs. C. C. Ivey of the home community, and one-half brother, 
D. J. Blalock of the Bear Marsh community. Mrs. Vause was the oldest member 
of Old Bear Marsh Baptist Church.
