Hudson and Mary Hudson to Council Warrick Source: www.familysearch.org Wayne Deed Records 1882-1884 Image 720 or 762 Microfilm of Vol. 51 page 533-534 North Carolina Wayne County This deed made the 3rd of Nov. 1883 by C.J. Hudson and Mary Hudson to council Warrick all of the above county and state written. Witnessed that the said C.J. Hudson and wife for and in consideration of the sum of seventeen hundred dollars to them paid and secured by the said Council Warrick before these presents one delivered had bargained and sold and by these presents convey to the said Council Warrick and his heirs a certain tract of land lying and being in said county on North side of Falling Creek and bounded as follows: Beginning at a stake in the reeds in the run of a small branch then up run of said branch N30W abt. 20 poles to tow pine stumps then North 9E 178 poles to a stake in the back line then S84E 271.2 poles to a stake then E 271/2 poles to a stake W.B. Hood corner then his line S181/2W 28 poles to a small maple in the head of a small branch then down run of said branch as it meanders to a sweet gum in the run of said branch near the road then S65E 141/2 poles to a stake in the road then S27W 24 poles to a stake then S42W 64 poles to a stake then S791/2W 28 poles to a stake at the fence of A.A. Grantham's line then with his line to the beginning containing one hundred and thirty acres more or less to have and to hold the above conveyed land and premises with all singular the improvements thereon to the said Council Warrick his heirs and assigns in fee simple forever and the said C.J. Hudson and wife for themselves and their heirs will warrant the title to the said Council Warrick his heirs and assigns free and clear from the lawful claims of any and all and all persons soever witnessed whereof the said C.J. Cox, Justice of the Peace do hereby certify that C.J. Hudson and Mary Hudson his wife personally appeared before me this day and acknowledged the due execution of the within deed and the said Mary Hudson being by me privately examined separate and apart from her said husband touching her voluntary execution of the same doth state that she signed the same freely and voluntarily without fear or compulsion of the said husband and any other person and that she doth sate voluntary assent thereto.
