The Justices of the Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions of Wayne County
To Wm T Cox Greeting
We do hereby appoint you Overseer of the Public Road extending from Eli Sassers 
to N B Stevens Mill. Ordered that the usual hands work thereon.
Witness Benj. Aycock, Clerk of said Court at office the third Monday of August 
1860

Hands Liable to Work
White Males between 18 and 45
Male Slaves, and free males of color between 16-50
May cut poles and other necessary timber and dig ditches to repair roads and 
causeways
Penalty for not working. One dollar per day

Roads
Roads twenty feet wide-sixteen feet clear of stumbs and runners
Causeways, fourteen feet wide
Sign Posts to be put up at forks of roads
Penalty for omission, Indictment, &c

Wayne County Aug Term 1860
Ordered that the road extending from David B Everitts Mill to Eli Sassers be 
annexed to the section extending from Eli Sassers to N B Stevens Mill on which W 
T Cox if overseer and that the usual hands working on both sections work together 
under W T Cox overseer as aforesaid
