Written and Recorded Jany 7, 1890

J. A. Fields and wife Sarah Fields of Wayne County, State of North Carolina to 
Mary A. Potts in consideration of one dollar to them paid by Mary A. Potts a 
tract of land adjoining the lands of Wm Carraway, Jerry Hines and others 
bounded as follows:

Beginning at a stake at the west end of the mill dam and runs with Robt 
McKinnes line reversed S 56 W 151 poles to a stake on the north side of poplar 
branch his corner, in the back line, then N 57 E 166 poles to the run of 
Carraway Creek in the mill pond, then down the run of Carraway Creek as it 
meanders to a stake about 60 yards above the mill hence then north to the mill 
dam then with the mill dam to the beginning containing 72 3/4 acres valued at 
$200.

[Note: Sarah McKinne purchased this parcel of land from the estate of William
Carraway in 1870, the lot formerly belonging to her sister Hepsey Futrel which
was inherited from her father John McKinne in the division of his land after 
his death in 1839.

Mary A. Potts was daughter of J. A. and Sarah McKinne Fields and was the wife 
of Newman Potts 1854-1918]
