Petition of John HERRING, Jr.
27 Oct 1779

State of North Carolina
Wayne County
July Term 1794
To James GLASGOW, Esquire, Secretary of State

I hereby Certify that John HERRING, Junr. exhibited his petition to the Justices 
of the county Court of Wayne showing that he obtained a Grant for a Tract of 
Land Entered in Dobbs County now Wayne County for two hundred acres, the 27th 
day of October 1779 and that the Surveyor in plotting the said Land expressed 
the fourth course in the said patent to run South fifty five West one hundred 
and Seventy four poles, West one hundred and seventy four poles. This Error 
appearing to the Satisfaction of the Court to be truly stated.
Ordered that the Clerk of this Court Certify the same to the Secretary of State. 
I do therefor hereby Certify the same.
