Peele Wife of Robert Peele Born March 2nd 1822 Died April 6th 1902 We trust our loss will be her gain and that with Christ she's gone on to reign Eliza Jane (Pipkin) Peele is my great great grandmother Her parents were Elisha Pipkin b. 1774 Lenoir Co. NC & Elizabeth Hines Elisha (b. 1774) was son of Jesse Pipkin m. Fereba (Charlotte) Jesse Pipkin was son of John Pipkin of Chowan County, NC Eliza Jane Pipkin Peele loved coconut cake. The plantation was owned by Robert and Eliza and after Robert's death, Eliza sold to William Thomas Smith, her son-in-law. She continued to live on the plantation after the Smith family moved to Mt. Olive so that his second family could attend school. William and his son Robert would go to visit Eliza to see if she needed anything. She would ask them to bring her groceries and told them not to forget the "croak u nut" for her cake.
