Correspondence of the Headlight. A beautiful marriage was solemnized at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Cox last Wednesday evening, the 28th inst., at 8 o'clock, in which the contracting parties were Mr. J. Franklin Hosea and Miss Lydia Kale, Rev. F. W. Farries, pastor of the Presbyterian church, performing the ceremony in an impressive style. In the centre of the parlor was arranged a lovely arch, under which the bride and groom stood during the ceremony. At 8 p. m., four couples of attendants took their positions about the arch, followed by the happy pair to be made one. The beautiful Mendelssohn wedding march was played, Miss Eunice Cox presiding at the organ. The groom was at one time the Pikeville correspondent of THE HEADLIGHT, and is a gentleman of sterling character and an efficient businessman, who has a wide circle of friends who wish for him much success. The bride is one of Goldsboro's accomplished young ladies, who has hosts of friends, who wish for her many years of happiness. After the ceremony, the bridal party repaired to the dining room, where a sumptous repast was served, to which ample justice was done. The bridal presents were many and beautiful, attesting the high esteem in which the young couple are held by their many friends. The attendants were Mr. R. H. Hosea, brother of the groom, with Miss Effie Blow, of Pikeville; Mr. E. G. Scott with Miss Annie Bland, of Pitt County; Mr. Millard Starling with Miss Daisy Ginn; and Mr. Henry Cox with Miss Lizzie Smith, of Fremont. The writer joins their many friends in wishing them the fullest meed of life's joys and prosperity always. J. C. P.
