Pipkin and Bridgers Snipes are held and firmy bound unto the State of North Carolina, in the sum of one thousand dollars, current money, to be paid to the said State ; for the payment whereof, well and truly to be made and done, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals, and dated 29th day of Janu'ry AD 1862 The condition of the above obligation is such, that the above-bounden James M. Pipkin has made application for a License for Marriage, to be celebrated between him and Madlinor Robbins of the County aforesaid. Now in case it should not hereafter appear that there is a lawful cause or impediment to obstruct such marriage, then the above obligation is to be void - otherwise, to remain in full force and virtue.
