Wayne County, NC - Henry Woodard to Phebe Vinson, 1852 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ State of North Carolina Wayne County Know all persons by these presents that whereas we HENRY WOODARD and PHEBE VINCENT alias PHEBE WOODARD both of the county and state aforesaid have and do hereby agree to marry and enter into the bonds of wedlock previous to which union or marriage we do hereby make and establish these the following articles of agreement for and between ourselves Viz; That I, the aforesaid HENRY WOODARD, on my part, do promise and agree to and the aforesaid PHEBE VINCENT alias PHEBE WOODARD that she shall continue to have hold and enjoy all and singular all such property real and personal as she is now in possession of together with all the increase and profits thereof which may accrue or arise in any way or manner whatsoever to her proper use and disposal to all intents and purposes as much as if she had never married. And I the aforesaid PHEBE VINCENT alias PHEBE WOODARD on my part do hereby promise and agree to and with the aforesaid HENRY WOODARD that he shall continue to have hold and enjoy all and singular such property real and personal as he is now in possession of to his own proper use and disposal as he may think proper to all intents and purposes as much as if we had never married each other. For the faithful performance of the above agreement we hereby bind ourselves, our heirs, executors, administrators and assigns forever. In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals this the 22nd January AD 1852.
