Wayne County, NC - Will of Jacob Bardin This file contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Sabrina Coffelt Will of Jacob Bardin - 1786 Wayne County Wills, A-Z, p 3 The will reads as translated from handwriting: In the name of god amen this 14th day of October,1786 I Jacob Bardin of the State of North Carolina in the County of Waine(sp) Being weak in Body But of perfect mind and memory thanks be to god for the same and calling to mind the mortallity of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to Dye do make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my sole into to the hands of them that gave it and for my Body I recommend it to the earth to be buried in a Christian like dessent manner at the descression of my Executors nothing Doubting but at the general Resurettion I shall receive in the same again by the mighty power of god and as touching such Wordly Estates Wherewith it hath pleased god to Bless me with in this Self I give desire and dispose of the same in manner and form following that is to say I give and bequeth to my Son James Bardin the third part of my stil. Also I give unto my Daughter Sarah Fulghum ten Shillings also I give to my Daughter Drusillah hooks ten Shillings also I give unto my Daughter Elisabeth Durdeno ten Shillings also I give and bequeth to my Daugthers An(sp) Bardin and Alse(sp) Bardin one hundred and twenty five acres of Land Lying on the East Side of Burnt Swamp it being Part of a track of Land granted to moses manning also two thirds of my Stil and one Negro fellow by the name of Peter and all redy money and sales of Land and all the Res of my household goods and Property to be equally Devided Betwixt them. also I chose Hardy hooks and John Fulghum whome I Constitute and make Executors of this my Last Will and testament in Witness Whereof I have unto set my hand and Seal the Day and Year above Written, Jacob Bardin Signed Sealed in Presents of us Jesse Alcock Elias Alcock (Jacob Bardin was born in 1705, I believe. He married Sarah (no last name listed) and had 6 children. I think they were from the part of Wayne County that may have been Dobbs County.
