Will of Sarah Barnes

Wayne County, North Carolina Original Wills, State Archives of North Carolina, 
Raleigh, NC; Wayne County, NC Wills, Inventories, and Settlements of  Estates, 
Volume 6, p. 279.
Devised May 30, 1830
Proven November Term, 1831

In the name of God Amen I Sarah Barnes of the County of Wayne and State of No 
Carolina being of a Sounde and perfect mind and memory Blessed be God for the 
same do make this my Last Will and Testamente in manner and form as follows
First I Give an[d] bequeath to my Beloved Grand Sons of [son] Silas Barnes to wit 
John Barnes,  Stephen Barnes,  Wilie Barnes, and Godfrey Barnes the hole of my 
Land to be Eculey Devied betwene them  foure Boyes.
Secont I Give and Bequeath to my Beloved Gran Daughter Nancey Barnes one cow and 
calf.    
I allso Leave the Ballence of my Property to be Equalley divided Betwen these 
five children John, Stephen, Wilie, Godfrey, and Nancey.   
and Lastley I constitute my son Silas Barnes Executor to this my Last Will and 
Testamente as witness my hand and seal this 30 Day of May 1830.

Wayne County Nov Term 1831
The last will and testament of Sarah Barnes was offered for Probate in open court 
and proved by the oath of  Godfrey Stansell one of  the subscribing witness at 
the same time Silas Barnes qualified as executor thereto let it be recorded
