Wayne County, NC - Will of Charles Becton, 1889 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Will of Charles Becton - 1889 In the name of God Amen, I, Charles Becton of the County of Wayne and State of North Carolina being of sound mind and memory but considering the uncertainty of my earthly existence do make and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following. That is to say ... First. That my Executor herein after named shall provide for my body a suitable burial agreeable to the wishes of my relatives and friends and pay all funeral expenses together with my just debts out of the money that may first come into his hands as a part of parcel of my estate. I give and devise to my beloved wife - Hannah Becton all of that tract of land on which we now live consisting of (57) fifty seven acres for and during her natural life and after her death it is my will and I so direct that said land be equally divided between all of my children living and the heirs of those dead getting their parents part to them and their heirs in fee simple forever. And lastly. I do hereby constitute and appoint my beloved wife Hannah Becton my lawful executrix to all intents and purposes to execute this my last will and testament according to the true intent and meaning __ of hereby revoking and declaring null and void all other wills and testaments by me heretofore made. In witness where of I, the said Charles Becton do hereunto set my hand and seal this 24th day of August AD 1889.
