BEST of the County of Wayne and State of North Carolina do make declare and publish this my last will and Testament as follows: ITEM 1 I give and devise to my son JAMES W. BEST one tract or lot of land, bounded as follows: Beginning at a pine in RICHARD BOYETTE'S line, corner of Lot No. 2 and runs thence with No. 2 N. 11 W. 22 poles to a pine, then N. 83 W. 91 Poles to a sweet gum, then N. 50 W. 82 poles to a sweet gum at the ditch in Long Branch then down the ditch 34 poles to Richard Boyette's corner, then with his line N. 78 1/2 Et. 173 poles to the beginning containing 64 3/4 acres. ITEM 2 I give and devise to my daughter AVEY BEULAH BEST two tracts or lots of land, bounded as followes: Beginning at a pine in Richard Boyette's line, corner of Lot No. 1 and runs thence with No. 1, N. 11 W. 22 poles to a pine, then N. 83 W. 91 poles to a sweet gum, then N. 50 W. 82 poles to a sweet gum at the ditch in Long Branch, then up said ditch to a cherry tree, corner of Lot No. 3, then with No. 3 S 19 E 104 poles to a stake then S. 83 E. 60 poles, then S. 11 E 41 poles to RICHARD BOYETTE'S line, then with his line S. 78 1/2 W. 11poles to the beginning, containing 51 1/2 acres, also one other tract. Beginning at a pine in LUKE BEST'S line, Richard Boyette's corner, and runs thence with his line, S. 77 W. 38 1/2 poles to a stake, corner of Lot No. 4, then with No. 4, S. 34 1/2 Et. 62 1/2 poles to the Thompson line N. 78 E. 13 1/4 poles, then S. 86 Et. 24 poles to a pine stump, C D THOMPSON'S corner, then with LUKE BEST'S line N. 34 1/2 W. 65 poles to the beginning containing 13 1/4 acres. ITEM 3 I give and devise to my son LUBY HINTON BEST one tract of land (long description) containing 64 3/4 acres. ITEM 4 I give and devise to my daughter LILLIE CRATON BOYETTE, one tract of land (long description) containing 64 3/4 acres. ITEM 5 My sons, JAMES W. BEST and LUBY HINTON BEST and my daughters AVEY B. BEST and LILLIE C. BOYETTE shall each one pay my daughter NANCY J. JOHNSON two hundred dollars. ITEM 6 My executor hereinafter named shall pay my burial expenses and all of my just debts, he shall also pay JAMES W. BEST for taking care of me at his own home at the rate of $I00 per year and if there is not enough money on hand or due my estate after paying the other debts to pay JAMES W. BEST, then my executor shall collect the residue due him from LUBY H. BEST, LILLIE C. BOYETTE and AVEY B. BEST. ITEM 7 Any money belonging to my estate after settling all debts and obligations herein before mentioned, shall be equally divided between my 4 children, JAMES W. BEST, LUBY H. BEST, AVEY B. BEST and LILLIE C. BOYETTE. ITEM 8 I do make and appoint my son LUBY HINTON BEST my lawful executor to execute and carry out my will. Witness my hand and seal this August 14th 1911.
