State of North Carolina and
County of Wayne  Oct 8th 1891
     
     In the name of God  Amen.
I  ALLEN BEST being in sound mind and memory and knowing the
certainty of Death and the uncertainty of life do make this my last
will and Testament
1st  I give my body to Earth and my soul to God who gave it
2nd  It is my desire that my Burial and Funeral expenses be paid
        by my Admr. out of the first money coming into his hands
        from my estate
3rd  I give and bequeath to my beloved son JACK BEST all of my
       property consisting of One mule, One Ox, also my notes and
       money my Household and Kitchen Furniture.  Everything that
       I own at my decease I give to my son to have and to hold to
       his own use forever.
