Wayne County, NC - Will & Estate Records File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Ron Strickland Last Will and Testament of Henry Britt (Recorded November 1830 Wayne CO, NC) In the name of God Amen I Henry Britt Senior of Wayne County and the State of North Carolina being of Sound mind and memory do make and ordain this to be my Last Will and testament in manner and form to wit Item 1st I give and Bequeath to my beloved wife Anna Britt one Negro girl by the name of Tillor, one more by the name of Flower, one Bridle and Saddle, one chest, one flax wheel, two woolen, two tubs, one pale, one piggan, two chear fraims (?) I lend to my Beloved wife Anna Britt during her natural life or widowhood one feather bed and furniture the use of the room where we sleep and part of the hall room Item 2 I give and bequeath to my daughter Rebecker Taylor (?) three Negroes by the name of Jula, Lizza and Jeremiah to her and her Lawful begoten heirs of her body in Lieu of the money that her grandfather willed to her Item 3rd I give and bequeath to my son William Britt one dollar Item 4th I give and bequeath to the lawful heirs of Kinchen Britt one dollar and no more Item 5th I give and bequeath to my son John Britt one Negro boy by the name of George to him and his heirs forever Item 6th I give and bequeath to my son Jesse Britt one Negro girl by the name of Cristian to him and his heirs forever Item 7th I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Britt one Negro boy by the name of Lewis to him and his heirs forever Item 8th I give and bequeath to my grandson John William Britt one Negro boy by the name of Abram Item 9th I give and bequeath to my granddaughter Martha Heath Britt one Negro girl by the name of Esther Item 10 I give and bequeath to my grandson Henry Britt the son of Thomas Britt after the death of my wife one feather bed and furniture Item 11 I give and bequeath to my son Benjamin Britt all the Stock of horses Cattle hogs and sheep all the kitchen furniture and all the house furniture that is not my wifes all the farming tools of every kind also the Corn(?) and fodder that I may have at my death Item 12 I give and bequeath to my daughter Pennelope Penelton one dollar and no more Item 13 I give and bequeath to my son Henry Britt one dollar and no more I do hereby constitute and appoint my son Benjamin Britt the whole sole executor of this my last Will and testament and do utterly hereby _(?)__anul and revoke all and every other Will or Wills by me here to fore made in witness where of I do here unto set my hand and seal February 24, 1830 Signed Sealed and delivered in the presents of us John Wasoln (?) his Kinchen Smith Henry Britt Sen.
