Will of Temperance R. Carraway
Probated April 13, 1886

State of North Carolina
Wayne County

In the name of God amen. I Temperance R. Carraway wishing to make a 
disposition of my worldly affairs and knowing the certainty of death and being 
of sound and disposing mind to this the 29th day of September A.D. 1885 make 
this my last will and testament viz.

Item first will and bequeath my Soul to God who gave it.

2nd I will that my body to be buried in a decent and Christian like manner.

3rd I will that all my personal property be sold and pay all my debts funeral 
expenses &c and all that may be left to be disposed of in the same manner as 
the proceeds of sale of land to be hereinafter described.

4th I will that all the land I now own for description I refer to a deed 
executed by David B. Everitt Executor of William Carraway to me to be sold and 
an equal distribution made between my grand children in the following manner 
viz. All the bodily heirs of my daughter Mary H. Parker to have one third. The 
bodily heirs of William P. Carraway to have another third. The bodily heirs of 
John T. Carraway to have another third. Now the three children of mine above 
named I appoint as guardian for their children severally with the 
understanding that my three children viz Mary H., William P. and John F. 
Carraway are to have and use for their own use the interest on the amount 
bequeathed to their children.
