Wayne County, NC - Will & Estates State N. Carolina} Wayne County} Be it Remembered that I David Cobb of the County and State aforesaid, do constitute and appoint this my last Will and Testament, Impremise, I recommend my soul unto Almighty God besecching has most gracious acceptance of it. As to the wordly Estate it hath pleased God to bless me with I give and devise in manner and form following. I will and possitively order that my Just debts be paid before my Estate be distributed Item, I give and bequeath to my loving wife Bridget the plantation whereon I now live containing Two Hundred acres, Together with part of two other tracts, one of which joins Patience Cobb, Nathan Cobb, Henry Horns & my own lands, the other joins Henry Horns & Nathan Cobbs land and is part of an entry made by Robert Coleman, observe the second peice of land mentioned herein was purchased of John Faulk and that part which joins the plantation whereon I now live, as far as a branch called the middle branch is the part intended to her, as also Five Negrows to wit. Jesse, Lucy, Tabb, Lucie & Moses. Also Two maires and one colt, Also all my stock of Cattle, Sheep, Sows & piggs and Twenty Six of the best of my Hogs also all my crop of every kind, Together with all my farming tools as also all my Household and Kitchen furniture to her during the time of Widowhood after which time to be equally devided between her and Children begotten of her by me, Except Two Negrows, to wit, Jesse, Lucy to her and her Heirs forever Item, I give and bequeath to my Daughter Mary and Son Stephen (and in case my wife being with child at my decease and bearing the same and the Child liveing, such a son or daughter shall be deemed as thou it was now a Named, and as this lagacy can oly be conditional in their respect, so all lagacies herein after this Respecting the Children shall have regard to these Conditions, Except one lagacy in which a Certain piece of land shall be given to my son Stephen after the decease of Sabra Tison) and suppossed son or Daughter, Six Negrows, to wit, Grace, Dick, Lott, Jane, Dinah, Anne, To be Equally devided amongst them, To them and their Heirs forever I will and direct my executors to make a lawfull bill of sale of a certain Negrow man named Tarter, To Harty Robertson, on his paying into my Estate the value of One Hundred and Twenty five Dollars, agreeable to bargain between the said Robertson and me, Otherwise the said Tarter be sold and his value, as also one Negro woman named Nann who I order to be sold and her value together with other, to be applyed the use and benifit Equally amongst my Children, as above, to them and their Heirs forever Item, I give and bequeath to my son Stephen all the remaining parts of that that tract of land from the middle branch above mentioned to Contentney Creek and Henry Horns lands to him and his Heirs forever after the decease of Sabra Tison, to him and his Heirs forever I will and direct that all my part or rights in the Bloomery and land belonging thereunto be sold as private sale if it will fetch Two Hundred & Fifty Dollars, therewise to remain, and be apply Equally to the benefit of my Children, as above, To them and their Heirs forever Item, I Give and bequeath to my son or sons all my lands which I have not before bequeathed Equally to them and Heirs forever I constitute and appoint my loveing wife Bridget and brother James Cobb, Executors of this my last will and Testament Ratifying and confirming the same under my hand and seal this Third day of November in the year of Lord one thousand Seven Hundred and Ninty Signed and acknowledged in presence of David Cobb {Seal} Thomas Horn Stephen Cobb Elisha (his x mark) Gin ============================================================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
