Wayne County NC - Will of Coley, Sally - Aug. 6, 1838 File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Meredith Clapper Sally Coley's last will and testament recorded In the name of god Amen, I Sally Coley, of the state of North Carolina Wayne County, being in perfect mind and memory do make and ordain this my last will & testament in the following manner---- Item 1st I give & bequeath to my daughter Sally Coley two beds and steads and all the bed clothes which she has acquired within herself, also one heifer & one side saddle. Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter, Courtney Coley, two beds & steads and all the bed clothes that she has acquired within herself also one cow & calf and one yearling. Item I give & bequeath unto each of my sons (viz) Needham, Wiott, Furney, Jason, Handy, John, and William Alfred, the sum of five shillings. It is my will and desire that my bed clothes and all of my moveable property also my crop be equally divided between my two daughters Sally & Courtney Coley, after paying my just debts, lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint Reden Coley & my daughter Sally Coley, my whole & sole executors of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking & making void all former wills by me made, in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal, this sixth day of August in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred & thirty-two. her Sally (X) Coley mark Signed sealed and acknowledged in presents of us Sherord Bardin Benj Persons Wayne County, Aug.
