In the [Name] of God Amen twenty fifth [day] of October In the Year of Our Lord Christ [One] Thousand Seven Hundred and ninety five I Benjam[in] Cooke of the State of North Carolina and County of Wayne being Sick & weak in body but of perfect mind & Memory doth make and ordain this my Last Will & Testament and Calling To mind which wor[ld]ly Estate it hath pleased God to bless me in this Life With I Give Devise and Dispose of the same in man[n]er & form to wit as follows Item I Give unto my Son Ephraim Cooke one feather bed and Furniture and on[e] Cow & [Y]Earling also one Shot Gun and also one mare Colt also all my Land on the other side of the Road I meane on the Side where Granery Benson Lives to him and his heirs for Ever. Item I Give and bequeath to my Son Wm Cooke all my Land on the Side of the Road where I Now Live. Item I Give unto my son Stephen Cooke ten Shillings. Item I Give [un]t[o] Ephraim one Saw. I will that my Mill and bay mare Should be Sold. Item I Give up my Planta[tion] house hould and kitchen furniture also my stock of hogs and Cattle to my wife during her Life or Widowhood & after her Death or Widowhood the Same to be Equally Divided between Jones, Jacob & Zekil and Anna and Patsey and William Cooke. I Give to my [ ] one Bay horse to Her for Ever.
