Wayne County, NC - Will of Johnston Corbett, 1832 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Will of Johnston Corbett Wayne County 1832 In the name of God Amen. I, Johnston Corbett of the County of Wayne & the State of North Carolina being weak in boddy but of sound and perfect thinking and memory thanks be to God for the same but calling to mind the mortality of my boddy knowend it is appointed for all men to die to this 28th day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty two make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following. Viz---- First I lend to my beloved wife Sarah Corbett all of my lands and plantation whereon I now live during her natural life or widowhood & then after the death or marriage of my wife as the case may be I gave the lands to be equally divided between my two sons namely Josiah & Nicolas Corbett to there use for wir------ Item 2nd I gave to my wife Sarah one feather bed & its furniture one wool wheel & cards one man by the name of Jim one heifer yearling & one sow and 5 piggs to her use forever Item 3 I leave the remainder of my property to be sold and after my just debts paid I leave the money arising there from to be equally divided between my four daughters namely Peninnah Cherry Nicy & Willy Corbett And lastly I leave my beloved wife Sary Corbett as Executor to this my last will and testament in witness where unto I have set my hand and seal those fore presents of Seth Pearson Johnston Corbett Henry Wiggs (his mark) (his mark) ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
