Then I lend to my beloved wife as much of my house hold and kitching furniture as she and my Executor thinks she needs so longs as she remains a widow then I give to my wife one bed and furniture one chest and its contents, and flax wheel also I lend to my wife and bay horse by the name of Jim so long as she remains a widow also I lend her my buggy and harness so long as she remains a widow also one cart and gear also as many of my farming tools as she needs also as many of my guns? as she needs also it is my will and desire for my executors to deposit in their own hands or some good mans hands one thousand dollars to grow interest and if my wife needs the interest the interest of the said thousand dollars, my executors is to pay the said interest to her yearly so long as she lives or any parte of the said interest also it is my will for my daughter Rachel Edgerton to have the interest of five hundred dollars which the said five hundred is to be kept by my executors or same good mans hands and its interest paid to the said Rachel Edgerton yearly so long as she lives or if she should need any of the principle my executors can pay her as much as they think she needs also I lend her one bead and furniture one chest so long as she lives. Also I give to my daughter Sarah Perkins two hundred and sixty dollars also give to my daughter Rebekah Pike two hundred and sixty dollars also I give to my daughter Christan Pike two hundred and sixty dollars, also I give to my daughter Charity three hundred dollars and Bead and furniture and chest – I give my five daughters the above legacies to make them equal with Piaty Colyer wife of Naman Colyers. Also I give to my grand daughter Chartottote E. Mitchell four hundred and fifteen dollars, one bead and furniture and chest; now if the said Chartotte E. Mitchell dies without a lawful heir of her own boddy the above mention four hundred dollars and fifteen and property is to be refunded back to my estate, now it is my will and desire for the balance of my property that is not given a way nor lent, both real and personal to be sold by my executors and the money equally divided between my seven daughters, namely Sally Perkins, Rebeckah Pike, Christan Pike, Charity Edgerton, Edney Edgerton, Piety Colyer and Mary Silvarsmith. Now the said Mary Silversmith is not to share equal with the above six above named until the six above named gits equal with the sd. Gary Silvarsmith, then the said Mary comes in equal. By estimation she has had six hundred and thirteen dollars, now I give my Negro David to my executors not to make a slave of him but to see to him and protect him and make David pay them for their trouble. Now my will and desire is that the above named property that I lend to my wife after her decease is to be sold and equally divided between my above named daughters. Also the money and property I lend to my daughter Rachal is to be divided in the same way. Also the money I leave to my grand daughter, Charlotte E. Mitchell and property to be divided between my above named daughters provided it should come back to my estate. In witness whereof I the said William Edgerton, Sr hath hereunto set my hand and fix my seal this the 10 of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty seven. Now lastly I do nominate and I point my friend s, George N. Strong and Michel Edgerton my executors to this my last Will and Testament. Term 1857 Now was the foregoing paper writing purporting to be the last Will and Testament of William Edgerton Sr read in open court and offered for probate after the testimony of Barney Aycock, Isaiah Wigg, the transcribing witnesses thereof and is duly moved and ordered to probate and ordered to be recorded and entered.
