STATE OF NC
COUNTY OF WAYNE
WILL OF BURWELL EDMUNDSON
In the name of God Amen! I Burwell Edmundson being in sound mind and memory 
and knowing the certainty of death and the uncertainty of life do make and 
declare this my last Will and Testament.
I give my soul to God and my body to earth from whence it came.
I desire that my executor bury my body in a manner suitable to my wife and 
children and pay my burial and funeral expenses out of the first money 
coming in his hands from my estate.
Item 1:  I give and bequeath to my son James B. Edmundson my residence also 
one hundred and ten (110) acres of land on which the residence stands, the 
said land lying and being the Southern portion of my land to have and to 
hold to his only use and behalf forever.
Item 2:  I give and bequeath to my daughters, Mary Susan Edmundson and Sarah 
A. Daniel the remainder of my land it lying and being the Northern part 
lying next to Nahunta Swamp to have and to hold to their only use and behalf 
forever.
Item 3:  The above gifts are made conditionally that the said heirs named 
above are to pay over in consideration of the above gifts of land the sum of 
Three Hundred ($300.00) dollars or $100.00 each to my grandson Theopilus 
Edmundson to have and to hold his only use and behoof forever.
Item 4:  I hereby appoint my son James B. Edmundson my executor to settle my 
estate, sell my personal property and pay my just debts.
In testimony whereof I have affixed my hand and seal this April 27 in A.D. 
1893
