Wayne County, NC - Will of Joshua Garris, 1840 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In the Name of God Amen I JOSHUA GARRIS of Wayne County in the State of North Carolina being sick and weak of body but of a sound and perfect mind and memory thanks be to God calling unto mind the mortality of my body that it is appointed for all men once to die. Do make and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament that is to say; I lend all of my Estate of Land to my son ECHABOD three years and afterwards I give to my two Grand Sons ISAAC and RAIFORD GARRIS forever it to be equally divided. ITEM: my son WILIA (Wiley) with three dollars. I give and bequeath all of my perishable property to be sold and equally divided between my son ECHABOD and my daughters TEMPERANCE COLYAR and BARBIA WORRELL and my son GRADDY.
